Abstract
{[R2Sn(L)]2O} and {[R2Sn(L)]2Cl2} have been synthesized by microwave-assisted reactions, and exhibit distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry with SnOSn bridges and octahedral geometry with SnClSn bridges as validated by DFT. UV-Vis and fluorescence titrations suggest an intercalative mode of binding with CT-DNA. They exhibit effective cleavage of supercoiled plasmid pBR322 DNA.99
