Abstract
- A Baeyer-Villiger monooxygenase (BVMO) from Dietzia sp. D5 was cloned and expressed.
- Dietzia BVMO has highest sequence identity with ethionamide monooxygenase (EthA).
- Several amino acids conserved in EthA-like enzymes are not conserved in Dietzia BVMO.
- Dietzia BVMO did not oxidize ethionamide.
- Dietzia BVMO oxidizes preferably linear aliphatic ketones to the respective esters.
