Abstract
- The secretion of a versatile peroxidase by Pleurotus sapidus was significantly induced by residues of a biogas plant.
- The VP was purified, biochemically characterized, and the encoding cDNA was obtained by colony hybridization and PCR.
- Heterologous expression of the active VP was achieved in Hansenula polymorpha.
- The purified enzyme was capable of degrading suspended lignin organosolv particles.
