Abstract
- A beta-glucosidase is in vivo biotinylated and subsequently immobilized directly from cell lysate on streptavidin coated magnetic particles.
- The high affinity and strong interaction between biotin and streptavidin enables simultaneous purification and immobilization.
- Immobilized beta-glucosidase displays higher thermal stability, at 50 °C, compared to free enzyme.
- It is possible to recycle the immobilized enzyme at least 9 recycles and retain 89% of its initial activity.
