Abstract
- CuCl vapor can be used to exchange copper ions into zeolites in their Na+ forms.
- The crystal structure of a partly copper exchanged zeolite Y is presented.
- Cu+, Cu2+, Na+, and Clâ are found in the product crystal.
- Most Cun+ ions are just 3-coordinate and accessible through the main channels.
- The complex cations Cu16Cl721+, Cu4Cl7+, and Cu3Cl2+ center some cavities and rings.
