Abstract
- Mesoporous gamma alumina fibres were synthesized through replica of sisal fibres.
- A BET surface area of 200 m2/g was obtained after calcination at 1000 °C.
- Fibres maintain a surface of 154Â m2/g after a re-calcination step under humid air.
- The interaction between inorganic precursor and lignocellulosic template was analyzed.
- The thermal evolution of the composite precursor-lignocellulosic fibre was studied.
