Abstract

- The preparation of novel hybrid materials based on MSN-polyelectrolytes nanoparticles (MSNPENs).
- MSNPENS composed of carboxyl/amino functionalized MSNs and hollow HMSNs were compared.
- This system could regulate the targeted release of the pre-loaded drug molecule, DOX.
- The cytotoxicity assay revealed that MSNPENs showed excellent biocompatibility.
- The drug release process accelerated at acidic conditions for target tumor release.
