Abstract
⺠Temperature above the hive body reveal the developmental state of the bee colony. ⺠Five annual development periods can be recognized automatically. ⺠One temperature sensor per colony and one per apiary for ambient air are necessary. ⺠Convenient placement of the sensor outside the nest of bee colony. ⺠Low cost remote monitoring of apiary becomes possible.
