Abstract
► A facile method to control the evolution of arsine during arsenic electrodeposition. ► Ammonium citrate showed a strong inhibition on the evolution of arsine. ► The current efficiency for the deposition of elementary As was increased by the addition of ammonium citrate. ► A dense and smooth layer was formed by the addition of ammonium citrate. ► A low-activity As layer was formed in the presence of ammonium citrate.
