Abstract
⺠Ni-MH battery energy efficiency was evaluated at full and partial state-of-charge. ⺠State-of-charge and state-of-recharge were studied by voltage changes and capacity measurement. ⺠Capacity retention of the NiMH-B2 battery was 70% after fully charge and 1519 h of storage. ⺠The inefficient charge process started at ca. 90% of rated capacity when charged at ⩽0.2 C rate. ⺠Battery durability and low self-discharge strategies are analyzed and discussed for energy storage needs.
