Abstract
⺠Two approaches considering total effects on the environment are presented. ⺠The relative direct sustainability index is replaced by total sustainability index. ⺠The concept of eco-cost is replaced by novel concept of eco-profit. ⺠Considering total effects enables obtaining of more realistic solutions. ⺠Production of biogas is an economically and environmentally attractive solution.
