Abstract
⺠Thermal efficiency improved by simple/novel design of baffles inside water reservoir. ⺠Noticeable steady-state natural gas savings of about 5%. ⺠Extensive 3-D numerical investigations followed by experimental verifications. ⺠Baffle designs prototyped in identical water heaters for ANSI/US DOE test protocols. ⺠Numerical/experimental results verified thermal efficiency improvement & fuel savings.
