Abstract
⺠Effects of injection parameters on soot mass entrainment process are determined. ⺠Soot formation in crevice is insignificant as compared to entrainment via blowby. ⺠Amount of soot found near cylinder liner are higher than those in the crevice region. ⺠Close-coupled injection reduces soot entrainment. ⺠Delayed split injection with large separation produces greatest soot entrainment.
