Abstract
⺠Four developmental profiles of task-avoidance and reading fluency were identified. ⺠A group with high reading fluency but also high task-avoidance was found. ⺠Pre-reading skills predicted differences in reading fluency levels. ⺠Kindergarten-age social competence skills predicted differences in task-avoidance.
