Abstract
⺠Achievement motives were the investigated personal antecedents of achievement goals. ⺠Perceived classroom goal structures were the contextual antecedents. ⺠The relation of both antecedents to learning strategies was investigated. ⺠Elementary students' achievement goals were the mediated variables. ⺠Mastery-approach goals partially mediated.
