Abstract
⺠Need strength moderates the effect of need satisfaction on hold-SI. ⺠Need for competence moderates the effect of perceived competence on hold-SI. ⺠Need strength moderates the effect of need dissatisfaction on joy, boredom, and hold-SI. ⺠Need strength as an additional predictor explains more variance in situational interest. ⺠Need strength as an additional predictor can increase the understanding of outcomes.
