Abstract
⺠Distinct student profiles emerged from measures of knowledge and epistemic beliefs. ⺠Profiles were examined before and after reading multiple conflicting texts. ⺠Most students moved to adaptive high knowledge/low personal justification profiles. ⺠Such profiles outperformed less adaptive profiles on multiple-text comprehension.
