Abstract
► We delivered and evaluated a literacy teaching intervention to 5-7 year-olds. ► Findings suggest children appreciate the complex nature of English spelling. ► These children were able to learn morphology, etymology, phonology and form rules. ► This learning significantly improved their reading and spelling.
