Abstract
⺠Non-symbolic, symbolic and mapping skills are separate abilities at age 4. ⺠Non-symbolic, symbolic and mapping skills are integrated abilities at age 6. ⺠Non-symbolic skills do not contribute to the development of mapping skills. ⺠Symbolic skills contribute to the development of mapping skills. ⺠Symbolic skills and mapping skills are important for math performance.
