Abstract
⺠BVSR theory holds that creativity requires blind variation and selective retention. ⺠In problem solving, sequential BVSR entails either exploration or elimination. ⺠Exploratory BVSR occurs when the problem solver begins with total ignorance. ⺠Eliminatory BVSR occurs when the problem solver begins with informed guesses. ⺠The two forms operate differently when searching for the most creative solution.
