Abstract
This paper presents a hybrid power system configuration, which consists of a photovoltaic (PV) generator, a methanol-fueled fuel cell (MFC) system, and an electricity storage/supply device in parallel, could precisely meet the daily load demand. To address the scenario-oriented design of an MFC/PV/Battery based hybrid power generation system, the MFC unit, an integration of a PEMFC stack and an optimized MeOH-to-H2 processor, is treated as the main power generator, the rechargeable battery follows the balanced charge/discharge mechanism and the hybrid power management strategy performs the economic power dispatch that is determined by solving a constrained optimization algorithm.
