Abstract
► Time domain design of fractional order PIλDμ controller is done for AVR system. ► Multi-objective optimization allows design trade-off between different objectives. ► An improved chaotic evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithm is used. ► The comparative merits and demerits of the PIλDμ and PID controller are outlined. ► Obtained solutions are robust and work well for other operating conditions as well.
