Abstract
⺠Application of the Kerr electro-optic effect in high-voltage engineering is considered. ⺠Physical basics of the Kerr electro-optic effect are presented. ⺠Measurements of electric fields accompanying fast transient voltages in liquid dielectrics are analyzed. ⺠Measurement methods based on the Kerr electro-optic effect are compared to other standard methods.
