Validation of a microsimulation of the Port of Dover

► We study state of the art microsimulations of the Port of Dover which are qualitatively and quantitatively tested and validated. ► Lightweight methods using network activity have been successfully used to capture transit of vehicles through the Port of Dover. ► Variability between simulation runs has been demonstrated and used to highlight the importance of decision making protocols within a simulation.
