A methodology to solve large-scale cooperative transportation planning problems

► We model a cooperative transportation problem that is motivated by a scenario found in the German food industry. ► We propose a methodology to solve this problem. It is based on decomposition to obtain more tractable sub problems. ► The performance is assessed in a rolling horizon setting using discrete-event simulation. ► The cooperative algorithms clearly outperform the non-cooperative ones.
