Abstract
Multimedia exhibition systems have application value in many fields. Considering the diversity of multimedia contents and existing monotonous devices, we design and implement a multi-display and cross-terminal exhibition system, in which the devices are installed in or close to a controlled exhibition table (C-exhibition table). The system can recommend the optimal display according to the multimedia contents. It supports users to exhibit multimedia contents within a small indoor space (e.g. an office) in a casual manner. The system consists of three modules: multi-display module, interaction module and data management module. Three typical sub modules constitute the multi-display module. Moreover, the system can be easily extended to typical AR and VR display. We apply the system to the exhibition of a virtual museum, and conduct a user study to evaluate the quality of the system. Results from a technology acceptance test and a user experience test reveal that the system has a high usability and ease of use, and it can lead to great viewing experience.
