Abstract
High frequency acoustics are preferred for underwater imaging sonar applications due to its attractive characteristics such as high spatial resolution and wide bandwidth. But it suffers severe range limitation imposed by attenuation that increases approximately as frequency-squared. Hence high frequency signals with sufficient power is required to get the desired range and resolution. For underwater imaging system usually power amplifier is an integral part of wet end system. This paper discuss the simulation study of high frequency linear power amplifier for under water imaging sonar applications.
