Abstract
Nowadays, femtocells are being part of next-generation wireless broadband system. Femtocells are found to be an efficient solution for achieving better coverage in indoor area, providing high data rates and increasing capacity of cellular networks. In co-channel deployment of femtocell two types of interference are possible: between femtocell and macrocell, among nearby femtocells. To improve overall utilization of available spectrum it is necessary to mitigate both types of interference. In this paper, we propose a mechanism to mitigate interference among nearby femtocells. The proposed mechanism was simulated and the number of femtocells allocated spectrum by the proposed scheme is 100%.
