Abstract
- We have designed a low cost embedded device that would reduce the penalty billing of the consumers who fail to maintain the desired power factor.
- The analysis is made keeping in mind the concern for those bulk consumers of electricity (i.e. 11Â kV and downwards) in rural and sub-urban areas of India dealing varying load patterns.
- Switching of shunt capacitor banks though economical but often fail to give satisfactory compensation for varying load patterns. Hence combination of shunt capacitor banks intelligently would give a better solution to this problem.
