Abstract
⺠The use of Information Entropy as a measure of DEM quality is reviewed. ⺠Entropy is a reliable measure of the loss of quality when a DEM is resampled. ⺠Entropy does not change in a consistent way when a DEM is smoothed. ⺠Differences between DEM of different quality are not reliably measured by entropy.
