Tectonic lineament mapping of the Thaumasia Plateau, Mars: Comparing results from photointerpretation and a semi-automatic approach

► We compare two photointerpretations and a semi-automatically derived dataset. ► A qualitative and quantitative analysis of the mapped structures is presented. ► Some of the factors that can influence tectonic photointerpretations are analyzed. ► Considerable differences were found between the two photointerpretations. ► The semi-automatically derived dataset is comparable to the photointerpretations.
