Abstract
► A temporal model was developed based on Cellular Automata. ► Three optimization methods were proposed for Digital Terrain Analysis (DTA). ► The methods can generally improve the performance of a DTA parallel algorithm. ► Our work can help geoscientists efficiently implement DTA parallel algorithms.
