Abstract
⺠Proposes a general scheme for the automatic recognition of symmetry in structural systems. ⺠Presents simple algorithms for the systematic search for symmetries in 2D and 3D systems. ⺠Uses search results to automatically identify the relevant symmetry group from a database. ⺠Adds new capability (symmetry recognition) to existing group-theoretic computational schemes.
