Abstract
ⶠWe study how hospital staff cope with unforeseen events and deviations from plans. ⶠWe draw on research on high reliability organisations (HRO's). ⶠUnforeseen events in the hospital are managed by anticipation and containment. ⶠIT-support must focus on creating a 'mindful infrastructure'.
