Abstract
In this paper, a simple reversible data hiding (RDH) scheme for embedding a great amount of information in JPEG images is proposed. Non-zero JPEG quantized coefficients are modified in a subtle manner to embed the binary message stream, which can significantly increase the embedding capacity. Experimental results confirm that the proposed scheme outperforms state-of-the-art histogram shifting (HS)-based RDH scheme for JPEG images, since it requires less storage space for the marked JPEG compressed file and is easy to implement. Therefore, the proposed scheme is very practical for low bandwidth transmission.
