Abstract
In dynamic environments, it is often necessary to analyze the layout and redesign it in accordance with the changes in demand. This paper presents a novel dynamic facility layout problem (DFLP) arranging and rearranging of manufacturing facilities such that material handling and the relevant costs to be minimized mathematically. Here simulation helped us to calculate the number of possible interference among transporters and also a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) is used to find the optimum layout satisfying the objective functions. In order to evaluate the applicability, a real case study presented. The results show that the proposed algorithm is more efficient in terms of accuracy and celerity quantification.
