Abstract
This paper presents an analytical stochastic model for FxLMS-based narrowband active noise equalization (ANE) systems. In contrast to other stochastic models presented in the open literature, the proposed model takes into account the dynamic behavior of the adaptive filters during the overall adaptation process. Such an approach gives rise to very accurate model expressions describing the mean weight behavior, mean-square error (MSE), and mean-square pseudoâerror (MSPE). Based on these expressions, a deeper understanding of the ANE system operation is achieved, thus clarifying the impact of the system parameters on its performance for both transient and steady-state phases. Through simulation results, the accuracy of the proposed model is confirmed for different operating scenarios.
