Abstract
The pre-micellar aggregates between the CV carbocation and the negatively charged surfactant monomers make it difficult for the entry of HOâ to the reaction center resulting in the inhibition of the alkaline fading of crystal violet. Electrostatic as well as hydrophobic interactions between CV+ and anionic surfactant monomers play key role in the formation of pre-micellar aggregates.
