Abstract
► The effect of nitrate salt on octyl-beta-glucoside micelles leads to change the hydration. ► No ion adsorption takes place. ► A salting-in effect is followed by a salting-out effect by adding salt from 0 to 2 M. ► A similar behavior is known for polyethoxylated surfactants when the cloud points are measured.
