Abstract
► Gold nanoparticles in a combination with polypyrrole offer some advantages for the design of electrochemical biosensors. ► Enzymatically synthesised layer of polypyrrole increases linear glucose detection interval of biosensors. ► The linear glucose detection interval depends on the duration of polypyrrole polymerisation. ► The sensitivity of analytical systems modified with polypyrrole depends on the size of gold nanoparticles.
