Abstract
⺠Coalescence exhibits DSD (drop size distribution) broadening with time. ⺠Ostwald ripening can display both DSD broadening and sharpening with time. ⺠The mechanistic information regarding growth mechanisms was extracted from DSDs. ⺠Ostwald ripening is dominant at high surfactant concentrations. ⺠Coalescence is important when surfactant concentration is low.
