Abstract
► The dependency of charging of titania particles is mainly related to the surface-induced electrolytic dissociation. ► The solution properties can be normalized as master curves, which express the main features of the dispersion solution. ► A recent model characterizing the dependency of conductivity on oxalic acid concentration was found to need improvements. ► The assumed direct proportionality between conductivity and proton concentration of the dispersions is rather limited. ► The dependency of ζ-potential on proton concentration, conductivity, and surface charge density was very complex.
