Abstract
⺠Zwitterionic surfactants can be intercalated into the montmorillonites. ⺠Structural characteristics of organo-montmorillonites are examined. ⺠Increasing surfactant concentration will increase the basal spacing. ⺠Increasing surfactant alkyl chain length will increase the basal spacing.
