Abstract
⺠Polymer waste can be converted into activated carbon with high surface area. ⺠Aromatic polymers are better precursors for activated carbon than aliphatics. ⺠Heterogeneous composition and ash content of raw polymers suppress the porosity of activated carbon. ⺠Polymer-based activated carbons exhibit potential for environmental remediation and cleanup.
