Abstract
⺠Crack initiation occurs between strips with Differential Tribological Transformations. ⺠A general 3D-form of the cracks network is rebuild from a large sample of squats. ⺠Crack propagation takes place in three distinct and successive steps. ⺠A multi-scale initiation mechanism of squat is proposed.
