Abstract

- The carboxylated PIM-1 fibers were prepared by hydrolysation reaction.
- The hydrolyzed PIM-1 fibers have selective adsorption property towards anionic and cationic dyes.
- The hydrolyzed PIM-1 fibers also exhibited high adsorption capacities towards heavy metal ions.
- The adsorption process was based on the host-guest interactions between the hydrolyzed PIM-1 fibers and the dyes.
