Abstract
- Solid state bioprocessing increases the shelf life of animal feed.
- Wheat ethanol residues (bran and stillage) can be used as substrate for R. oryzae.
- R. oryzae inhibits the growth of undesired microorganisms for at least 20 days.
- Radial growth rate of R. oryzae is up to 6 times larger than other investigated cultures.
- This method could represent savings compared to the addition of organic acid preservatives.
