Abstract
- New PCC-based filler modified by the layer-by-layer deposition method was produced.
- New filler contained alternating layers of alginate and poly(diallyldimethylammonium).
- When used in papermaking, the main handsheets strength properties improved (vs PCC).
- The bulk was lower and the optical properties were not significantly affected (vs PCC).
