Abstract

Nickel composite coatings were prepared by a conventional electrodeposition method from a nickel-based electrolyte containing a narrow size fraction of detonation nanodiamond (DND) separated from a polydispersed DND powder. Our study demonstrates that the incorporation of nanodiamond particles significantly affects the microstructure, mechanical and tribological properties of the corresponding composites.
