Abstract

This work is devoted to the development of fast neutron diamond spectrometer intended for the use in diagnostic systems of ITER project. Mathematical code including full model of diamond detector response under neutron irradiation and the problem of the reconstruction of the original neutron spectrum is being developed. Diamond detector response under 241Am-Be neutron irradiation has been measured as well as calculated. Acceptable agreement of the original and the reconstructed neutron spectra has been achieved.

► Diamond detector neutron response function is developed. ► We research the problem of original spectra reconstruction. ► Diamond detector operation is demonstrated in the experiment with Am-Be source. ► Reconstruction of neutron spectrum in 0.5 MeV–10.7 MeV range is calculated.
